Superlative Campaign for Excellence

Concept Note on Superlative Campaign for Excellence with University Students                

The History of Superlative Campaign for Excellence:  It is an empowerment program, which we have done on our own for three sessions with the freshmen of the university. The third one was supported by the university administration. 

The mission is to rebrand the mindset of our youth from corrupt value system to excellent value upholders with sound believers, thinkers and actors.  This is because the Nigerian system has become so much corrupt that is driving our youth crazy after affluent without checking the consequences of the means. This drive has led many to untimely death. Students use their school fees for betting, human parts trafficking, gambling, which has led many to committing suicide. Many go into prostitution to measure up which has led many to lose their wombs and some have died on the process. Many youth are now useless as a result of drugs addiction. Some are in the university as non academic students deceiving the naive ones. This is just to mention a few vices.

We all know that there have been a lot of programmes that campaigns against those vices, yet the vices are increasing on daily basis. The vision is of the opinion that if the youth are given positive line of actions, it will empower them for right actions. We have the goal of letting the youth discover themselves. Self discovery that leads to the restoration of human dignity is the key to stopping the vices that eat up the destinies of our youth.

We have as well discovered that there are excellent spirit and poor (bad) spirit. The vision is geared towards liberating them from bad spirit and encouraging them to embrace excellent spirit, which will distinguish them and make them excellent in all they do.

Research has shown that when you always present sin or addiction and telling people to desist from those vices it even increases crime. But when you open one’s eyes to the capacities inbuilt in him and tell the person how powerful he is; the strength to get focused will be ignited in them and gradually those vices will lose their grips on them. It has been proved that what you behold is what you become.

Youths are the hope we have now to change our society for better and to achieve conducive environment for us to live in. 

How do we achieve our goal? It is by organizing proper orientation programmes, where we discuss and teach about campus life realities, prepare them for academic excellence and show practical ways to overcome environmental challenges that militate against students’ all round success. So, there is need for proper education of our youth. This involves heavy sacrifice that needs collaboration.
